According to the investigation, he pasted leaflets with a QR code, "linking to the information resource of the organisation banned in the Russian Federation and thus get access to the publication containing information discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation" on the walls of apartment buildings in one of the settlements in Borovsky district of Kaluga region. On June 27th 2022, Karpunin was fined under the administrative article on discrediting the army (Article 20.3.3 of the CAO) because of a solitary picket he held in Moscow.
