Case summary
Moscow resident, physicist, specialist in quantum field theory and elementary particle physics, Director of the Bogolyubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. N.N. Bogolyubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and author of more than 200 scientific papers.
A case of financing extremist activities was opened against him because of two donations of 500 rubles each to FBK. It is not known when exactly the case was initiated, but on 22 April 2025 Kazakov's name appeared on Rosfinmonitoring's list of "terrorists and extremists". On 25 July, a court in Dubna sentenced him to a fine of 300,000 rubles.
