Case summary
A resident of Magadan. On August 13, 2022, a search was conducted at his place in connection with a case related to financing extremist activities. Law enforcement authorities identified him due to a technical glitch: he had transferred money to the Anti-Corruption Foundation after the organization was declared extremist, and the information had not been concealed in time. The defense insisted that Konovalov made the donation while hospitalized in the regional healthcare facility and, due to the medication he was taking, "could not fully comprehend and control his actions." This argument was rejected by the court.
In January 2023, Konovalov was fined 500,000 rubles (Part 1 of Article 282.3 of the Criminal Code).
