Case summary
A resident of Moscow, director of a travel company "Men Travel". On 28 November 2024 his premises were searched. According to him, approximately 15 law enforcement officers were involved; he was assaulted, and his personal data on his mobile phone was examined. A case was opened against Kotov for participation in the activities of an extremist organisation. According to the investigation, he organised tourist trips for LGBTQ+ couples.
On 2 December he was placed in custody. On 5 December it became known that he was placedin a disciplinary cell. He was also charged with the production of child pornography.
On 29 December 2024, Kotov died - according to the official version, he committed suicide.
On 14 November 2025, the court posthumously found the businessman guilty of organising and participating in the activities of an extremist organisation, as well as filming minors for the production of pornography. Due to Kotov's death, the case was dropped.
