Case summary

A citizen of Ukraine, lived in Donetsk region, and was a taxi driver. He was charged with acting as an accessory in participation in a terrorist community: according to the investigation, in 2016, he agreed to cooperate with a certain "terrorist community created by the SBU" and provided it with information about the military deployment of DNR. Kozhukhov said in court that he had incriminated himself under torture with a stun gun. Two witnesses, on whose testimonies the case was also based, retracted their testimonies in court. A certain ribbon with Ukrainian symbols also appeared in the case, but Ushakov claims that it belonged to his father and that he himself was unaware of its existence. On 8 October 2024, he was sentenced to 5.5 years in prison.
