In May 2023, Mazin was fined 30,000 rubles under the administrative article on discrediting the army (Article 20.3.3 of the Administrative Code) because of the publication of a certain interview, "the content of which causes a negative assessment of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation conducted on the basis of the decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation - the President of the Russian Federation and the resolution of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of 22 February 2022 № 35-SF in order to protect the interests of the Russian Federation and its citizens, to support the interests of the Russian Federation and its citizens, and to maintain the interests of the Russian Federation.
