Case summary
The resident of Sverdlovsk oblast. On September 27, 2022, he was detained and then taken into custody on charges of attempted sabotage. At the same time, a video was published in which Menshikov claimed to have installed jumpers on a railway section. His lawyer later claimed that he had testified under pressure. In January 2023, Menshikov was charged with confidential cooperation with a foreign organisation. Menshikov's charge was then reclassified from attempted sabotage to attempted terrorist attack, and a charge of incitement for terrorism was added. On April 15, 2024, he was sentenced to 14 years in a strict regime colony.
