Case summary
On 3 June 2021, he was detained in Moscow and taken to Lipetsk: he was demanded, according to Lipetsk public figure Dmitry Krasichkov, to declare that the accident in 2016, when his car collided with Krasichkov's car, was falsified. Mochalov refused. On 20 October 2022, Mochalov was sentenced to 10 months' correctional labour in connection with the 2016 accident on the insurance fraud case. On 27 December 2022, the appellate court affirmed the judgment, vacating Mochalov's sentence due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
