Case summary

A resident of Vologda, Molotov spent many years helping his fellow citizens fight against infill development. In 2014, he ran for election to the Vologda City Duma. On January 23, 2024, Molotov was detained following a search and subsequently taken into custody on charges of financing extremist activities. On April 19, he was placed under house arrest. On July 29, 2024, he was sentenced to a fine of 400,000 rubles (the court originally imposed a fine of 600,000 rubles but reduced the amount to account for the time he spent in custody and house arrest).
