Case summary
Resident of Naberezhnye Chelny. He was given a one and a half year suspended sentence on charges of insulting the feelings of believers and incitement to extremismfor statements made against Muslims (we do not have sufficient grounds to consider this prosecution politically motivated). A case was brought against him for defamation of the Russian Federation over comments in which he insulted the Russian military and President Putin and and also appealed: “Please reach Tatarstan, the police oppress me for supporting Ukraine.” The case was submitted to court in January 2025. On 9 September, the court sentenced him to three years’ suspended imprisonment.
