Case summary

A resident of Moscow. In April 2022 Nina Nesterova was fined 50,000 rubles under the administrative article on discrediting Russian armed forces (Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences) due to participation in an anti-war picket. In February 2023, Nina was detained because of ribbons in the colour of the Ukrainian flag and a rainbow cow on her backpack. Then she was charged with disobedience to law enforcement officers (Part 1, Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences), but later the case was dropped. No later than April 2023 a case was brought against Nina for discrediting the Russian armed forces. She left Russia. On 30 September 2023 she was arrested in absentia.
