The reason for the case initiation was the publication with an anti-war petition in "VKontakte" dated 25 February 2022. Before the criminal case was brought against him, Polev was fined three times under the administrative article on discrediting the Russian army (Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences): once in the Moscow region for 30 thousand rubles because of the sticker "No to War" on the car and twice in Moscow - once because of the same sticker for an unknown amount and another time for an unknown reason for 45 thousand rubles.
