The reason for the prosecution of Shachnev was the publication in Odnoklassniki of "photo images and statements characterising the actions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine as invasive, associated with the forcible conquest or subjugation of other states". On 18 November 2022, the court fined Shachnev 30,000 rubles under the article on discrediting the Russian army (part 1 of Article 20.3.3 of the CAO) because of a post in Odnoklassniki. According to the court, the man called for violent actions against the Russian military.
