Case summary

On 5 November 2017, he was detained while trying to go to the Square of Soviets in Rostov-on-Don in response to Vyacheslav Maltsev's call to stage a "revolution". On 6 November, arrested for five days under the article on petty hooliganism. On 9 November a case of preparation for mass riots was opened. During the interrogation in the criminal case, an appointed lawyer was present, who was not supposed to be on duty that day. Shashmin was placed under house arrest.

On 4 October 2019, he was sentenced to three years' suspended sentence.
