Polina Simonenko
Case summary
Resident of Seversk (Tomsk). LGBTQ+ and trans activist. In 2019, she was arrested for 10 days under an administrative article on "repeated violation of the rules of participation in public events" (part 8 of article 20.2 of the CAO) for sitting on Red Square with a poster "Death". In 2020 she was detained for 14 days for taking part in a rally against the adoption of a package of laws that would limit the rights of transgender people. Symonenko left Russia. In March 2024, she was put on a wanted list. On 26 May 2024, her parents' home was searched. On 29 May, Simonenko was added to the Rosfinmonitoring list with the marking that is put on the names of people prosecuted under terrorist articles.
