Andrei Sorochkin

Activist of the local branch of the Yabloko party. On the eve of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 23 February 2022, he held a solitary protest with the poster "War with brotherly Ukraine? Putin is completely fucked up", after which he was detained.

On 13 May 2022, Sorochkin was stopped by traffic police officers because he had a poster in the colours of the Ukrainian flag with the inscription "No to the shameful war" on the rear window of his car. He was informed that on 8 May a criminal case was opened against him for discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Before that Sorochkin had been brought to administrative responsibility four times under a similar article of the Code of Administrative Offences. On 31 May, Sorochkin's home and workplace were searched. The court ordered him to prohibit certain actions.

Later it became known that a new case had been opened against Sorochkin under the same article in connection with the fact that during the search, a poster was found with the inscription "For the ruins of Mariupol, we filled Ukraine with corpses" on a yellow and blue background. Sorochkin tried to leave Russia but was detained. On 10 July, the court placed him under house arrest. Then the cases were combined.

On 20 September, he was sentenced to a fine of 200 thousand rubles.
