Redvan Suleymanov

Resident of Ukraine. He worked as a security guard in SIZO No. 1 in Crimea, served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, resigned in 2014, and worked as a construction worker. In July 2016, he was detained in occupied Crimea, where he came from Zaporizhzhia. He was accused of falsely reporting a bomb threat in Crimea. According to the investigators' version, Suleymanov, while on the territory of the airport in Simferopol, called the police duty station and connected with them a person from the territory of Ukraine, who reported that several objects in the territory of Crimea were mined. According to the defence, Suleymanov was detained with the use of force and apparently pressured to confess. During the investigation, they tried to accuse him of links to the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and of involvement in sabotage, which Evgenii Panov and Andrey Zakhtey were accused of preparing. Suleymanov was sentenced to a year and eight months in a general regime colony. He was released in the spring of 2018.
