Case summary

Born in Irkutsk. He was detained on 28 January 2023 in Mineralnye Vody, where he flew from Yerevan. Before that, he had travelled from Yerevan to Chisinau, but was not allowed to go there. Initially, it was reported that during the detention Ukrainski was found "six notes of one hundred euros", which, according to the version of the law enforcers, he wanted to spend "for the uniforms of the AFU". The young man was detained under the administrative article on disobedience to the FSB officers (part 4 of article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences) and arrested for 15 days. At the end of the term of the first arrest he was again arrested for 15 days under the administrative article on petty hooliganism (Art. 20.1 of the CAO). On 25 May 2023, Ukrainski was detained on a criminal case of preparation for high treason. It is unknown where he was officially from the end of February, when the second administrative arrest expired, to the end of May. The young man was taken into custody. According to the investigation, he was going to join the "Freedom of Russia" legion. Human rights activists believe that there is no evidence of these intentions in the case. On 23 August 2024 Ukrainsky was sentenced to six years in a strict regime colony.
