A resident of the Saratov region who raised livestock. A case was opened against him because, according to the investigation team, he persuaded a friend to surrender as a prisoner of war. Initially he was charged under the article concerning incitement to voluntary surrender (Article 352.1 of the Criminal Code with application of part 4 of Article 33 of the Criminal Code), but later the charge was reclassified to preparation for the organisation of voluntary surrender (Article 352.1 of the Criminal Code with application of part 1 of Article 30 and part 3 of Article 33 of the Criminal Code). According to the lawyer representing Usoyan's interests, his friend was also tried after his return to Russia (the lawyer did not specify the article under which he was prosecuted), but was acquitted.
