Case summary

A resident of Yakutia. On March 1, 2024, he was detained on suspicion of confidential cooperation with Ukraine. According to the investigation, he transmitted to Ukraine information about the socio-economic situation in the republic, residents’ attitudes toward the war, mobilization activities, and other data, and also painted anti-Russian inscriptions on banners with patriotic symbols supporting the war in Ukraine. On October 17, 2024, Zakharov was sentenced to four years’ imprisonment in a general-regime colony. On May 29, 2025, he was added to the Rosfinmonitoring list of extremists and terrorists, marked with the designation used for individuals prosecuted under terrorism-related articles. The details of the new case are unknown.
