Case summary

On 30 April 2021, police officers visited Zhukov, a former coordinator of the Agit Russia branch, and escorted him to the military enlistment office, seizing his military card. The activist faced threats of conscription into the army, as well as potential charges under the article pertaining to repeated violation of the order of public events for installing a tombstone to Putin, or under extremist articles for his activities in Agit Russia from 2018 to 2020. In May 2021, Zhukov left Russia after being forcibly taken to the military enlistment office and threatened with criminal proceedings. In February 2023, Zhukov was placed on a wanted list, and a case was initiated against him for disseminating false information about the Armed Forces and possibly for justifying terrorism publicly.
