The attack on Khanskaya airfield, about 6 km from Maykop, was reported by the Ukrainian monitoring Telegram channel Exilenova+, citing local residents. According to the channel, a fire broke out at the facility after the strike. The Telegram channel "ChP Maykop" confirmed the blaze but did not specify where it occurred.
Residents of the city said in comments that drones had been flying "all night," and described sirens and explosions. Khanskaya airfield hosts Su-30, Su-24 and Su-34 fighter jets and An-12 military transport aircraft, which Russian forces use to strike Ukraine with aerial bombs and to ferry munitions for combat aviation. The airfield has been targeted in previous attacks.
Murat Kumpilov, the head of Adygea, said 28 Ukrainian drones were intercepted and destroyed over Maykop and its suburbs. According to him, no one was injured, and damage was recorded to the roofs and windows of several private homes. The authorities have not reported any damage to the military airfield.
The channel Supernova+ claims the targets of the attacks were "all the sites from which drones are launched at Ukraine," including Maykop. According to monitoring channels, the Hvardiiske airfield near Simferopol in Crimea and the Primorsko-Akhtarsk airfield in Krasnodar Krai were also attacked the same night.
Russia's Defense Ministry reported 559 drones shot down overnight, including over Adygea, Crimea and the Kuban region. There is no independent data.
Belgorod came under attack on the evening of October 3. Belgorod region Governor Alexander Shuvayev reported six people injured, including three children, with the condition of one teenager and two adults assessed as serious. According to him, two apartment buildings and five private houses were damaged, along with six cars. The outlet Pepel reports that one of the downed drones fell into the courtyard of an apartment building on Oktyabrskaya Street and exploded, causing several fires.
Bryansk region Governor Egor Kovalchuk reported four people wounded as a result of drone attacks.
Sources differ: Radio Liberty, citing authorities, reports 12 people wounded over 24 hours in Belgorod, Grayvoronsky and Shebekinsky districts, including four children, whereas Shuvayev spoke of six injured in Belgorod itself. The number of damaged houses in Belgorod also differs: the emergency operations center reported seven apartment buildings and 30 private houses, while Pepel reported two apartment buildings and five private houses.
