Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) said it prevented an attack by 35 FPV drones on a strategic enterprise in the Moscow region, accusing Ukrainian rapper Albert Vasilyev (Kyivstoner) of organizing the plot. According to the agency, the attack was planned by Ukraine's Security Service (SBU).
The drones were smuggled into Russia disguised as a shipment of Spanish ceramic tiles via Slovakia, Poland, and Belarus, the FSB alleged. The drones were equipped with Canadian-made control systems and foreign-made explosives, the agency said.
During the operation, a Russian citizen who had rented a hangar to store the drones was killed, according to the FSB. The alleged executor of the attack, who was detained, is a former convict who fought in Ukraine as part of the Wagner mercenary group and was amnestied after participating in what Russia calls the 'special military operation.' His citizenship was not specified.
The FSB named Ukrainian rapper Albert Vasilyev (Kyivstoner) as the organizer of the attack. The agency's statement also claimed that he allegedly combines this activity with cocaine distribution. The FSB did not specify his role in preparing the attack. Vasilyev currently lives in Spain and Slovakia.
The FSB released a video of an interrogation in which a man with a distorted voice and hidden face claims that Kyivstoner asked him, for money, to deliver food and tools to the Moscow region and hand over cash to a stranger.
Kyivstoner himself posted an Instagram story with the FSB's statement and a single word: 'What the f*ck?'
