A post published in English on the Gaga Daily account on September 22 apologized for the two-year silence and gave a direct explanation: "I was literally in prison." The author said he had personally produced every post on the account from 2009 to 2024.
"In early 2024, I was arrested in my home country for protesting against the government and sentenced to more than two years in prison," he wrote. He said he is now free and safe.
The author did not give his name. The Telegram channel Ostorozhno, Novosti claims he is 32-year-old Kirill N. from Minsk, detained in Belarus in 2024 in a case over organizing group actions that disrupt public order. The channel notes that this charge is actively used against participants in the 2020 protests.
Ekho established his surname as Nguyen. According to the outlet, he was sentenced to prison on May 10, 2024 for taking part in protests in Minsk. He was released in April 2026, according to the database of the human rights project Viasna.
Kirill's last Instagram post before the break is dated March 1, 2022 — a video from inside a police van, with the Kremlin visible through the window. The next post appeared only on September 22, 2026. While the owner was in custody, his friends ran the account.
Gaga Daily is a forum and X account dedicated to Lady Gaga that has operated since 2009. The singer herself has said she reads it from time to time.
