People were evacuated from the Russian University of Medicine, the Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics (MTUCI), RUDN University and the State University of Education, the outlet Ostorozhno, Moskva reported, citing students.

At the Russian University of Medicine on Delegatskaya Street, all students and staff were evacuated, The Moscow Times reported. The preliminary cause was a false bomb report.

At RUDN, students said people were led out of the humanities buildings and the Institute of the Russian Language after a fire alarm went off. Loudspeakers told students the alarm was a drill. The university told TASS that "training evacuations of dormitories and academic buildings" were under way and denied reports of a bomb threat.

MTUCI was evacuated at locations near the Narodnoye Opolchenie and Aviamotornaya stations. No evacuations took place at the university's dormitories. The university cited incoming messages "about a security threat" as the reason.

Students at the State University of Education were sent home before classes began, with all lessons moved online.

It is the third wave of evacuations in a week. The two previous ones, on September 24 and 25, affected at least 14 Moscow universities and colleges. Those evacuated included the Mendeleev Russian University of Chemical Technology, GITIS, MGUSiT, the Kosygin Russian State University, the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics college in Khamovniki and other institutions. Overnight into September 25, residents of one RUDN dormitory were led out.

Checks showed the alarms were false, Forbes noted. Dog handlers and Rosgvardiya officers were dispatched to some universities.

Accounts differ: RUDN describes a training evacuation and denies bomb reports, while Ostorozhno, Moskva, citing students, reports a false bomb message at the Russian University of Medicine. At MTUCI, the cause is given as a "security threat," without specifying its nature.
