The Moscow City Court on Tuesday overturned a ruling by the Khoroshevsky District Court that had extended Neradko's detention, and placed him under house arrest instead, according to RBC, citing a participant in the proceedings and a source familiar with the court's decision.
Neradko, who headed the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) from 2009 to 2023, was detained in early July on charges of large-scale fraud.
According to Kommersant, the case involves the embezzlement of nearly 800 million rubles during the construction of a third runway at Domodedovo airport in 2014. RBC sources, meanwhile, have reported embezzlement of 91.5 million rubles during the reconstruction of the airport and its runway.
Neradko's former deputy, Konstantin Makhov, was detained in the same case and remains in custody; his appeal is scheduled for September 7. Agentstvo noted that after leaving Rosaviatsia, Makhov held senior positions in companies affiliated with Arkady Rotenberg, a close associate of President Vladimir Putin.
