Shneider was told to appear "to give explanations and take part in drawing up the protocol" in the case, which concerns inciting hatred or enmity. She visited the prosecutor's office on 15 October, where she was shown two screenshots: a VKontakte page and a comment purportedly written by her in 2011. The substance of the post was not disclosed.
The politician says she did not write the comment. According to her, the page has been hacked regularly for several years, with the most recent unauthorized login attempt recorded this year. On 19 October Shneider found that her account had been accessed from an unknown device.
She calls the case political. Shneider also said prosecutors did not let her properly review the case materials and postponed that until the day of the hearing.
The hearing is scheduled for 21 October at the Kuybyshevsky District Court of Omsk — the same day she is due back at the prosecutor's office.
Shneider has headed the Omsk branch of Yabloko since 2023. This year she was placed in the first seven names on the party's federal list for elections to the State Duma. According to Yabloko's press service, party representatives faced systematic pressure from the authorities during the election campaign.
