Makhonin said the site sustained "minor damage" and was operating normally. He did not name the facility. Three of the injured were sent to a hospital for examination, one was treated as an outpatient and a fifth declined medical help. Makhonin described the condition of all five as satisfactory.
Air defense forces and mobile teams shot down 11 drones over the region, the governor said.
The Ukrainian monitoring channel Exilenova+ claims the target was the Avisma chemical and metallurgical plant in Berezniki. Local residents confirmed the attack on the facility in chat groups, The Moscow Times reported.
Avisma is part of the VSMPO-Avisma corporation, the largest titanium producer. The Berezniki site produces titanium sponge and magnesium. According to the company's website, it is linked in a single production chain to a plant in Verkhnyaya Salda, where titanium is processed into ingots, sheets and forgings.
Avisma's output is used in the manufacture of military aircraft, aircraft engines, rockets and spacecraft. The United States has placed VSMPO-Avisma on its sanctions list. Proekt reported that the corporation's titanium is bought, among others, by Russian rocket manufacturers, ASTRA noted.
Accounts differ: the Russian authorities have not named the facility that was hit and have not commented on Exilenova+'s statement. The monitoring channel and local residents in chat groups point to Avisma in Berezniki.
