Three ballistic missiles struck and completely destroyed the largest warehouse of Ukrainian online marketplace Rozetka in Brovary, Kyiv Oblast, co-founder Iryna Chechetkina said on Facebook. No one was injured, but the facility cannot be restored, she said.
Chechetkina wrote that the company was set to mark its 21st anniversary on the night of the attack. The Brovary warehouse, opened in early 2017, processed more than 100,000 orders daily. It was the third strike on the facility in recent days — on August 2, the company reported two drone hits.
On the night of August 5, Russian forces also attacked a sorting complex of the postal operator Nova Poshta in Kyiv, killing three people and wounding eight, the company said, claiming cluster munitions were used. A logistics center and a plant of the Epicentr retail chain were also damaged, with one person killed and three injured there.
As The Moscow Times notes, strikes on Ukrainian logistics infrastructure began after a series of Ukrainian Armed Forces attacks on Wildberries warehouses in Russia. Since July 18, the Ukrainian army has hit about 20 logistics centers of the marketplace in various cities, with a total area exceeding 1.5 million square meters. On August 4, a Lenta distribution center in Leningrad Oblast was attacked for the first time.
Rozetka called the strikes on its warehouses targeted. Chechetkina wrote that she watched overnight as "the work of her entire life" burned after the missile strike.
