Acting Sumy Mayor Artem Kobzar said the drone strike injured at least 14 people. Sumy Regional Military Administration head Oleh Hryhorov later revised the number of wounded to 20, and said two people — a 21-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman — were killed. Information about a third fatality that Hryhorov had reported earlier was incorrect.
Children are among the injured. Two of the wounded are in serious condition, and another woman is in extremely serious condition.
A fire broke out at the shopping center after the strike, and cars in the parking lot were damaged. Emergency and rescue services are working at the scene. Sumy authorities suspect a jet-powered Shahed drone was used in the attack.
