Ukrainian Telegram channels reported a large fire at a hypermarket of the Epicentr chain in Odesa following a nighttime attack, publishing photos and videos of the blaze.
Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, confirmed strikes on food storage facilities and energy infrastructure, adding that private homes were damaged and fires broke out. No casualties were reported.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine said the fire occurred at a gas infrastructure facility, and a forest belt on the outskirts of Odesa also caught fire. All fires were extinguished.
Russia's Defense Ministry said the strike targeted the Pivdennyi port, hitting a tanker delivering fuel for the Ukrainian armed forces, five fuel reservoirs, ten warehouses with military property, port infrastructure, and an electrical substation powering the port.
Accounts differ: Ukrainian authorities report strikes on food warehouses and energy infrastructure, while the Russian Defense Ministry claims only military targets in the port were hit. There is no independent confirmation of the ministry's version.
