Traffic on the Racheika–Belashaika section has been stopped, and two other passenger trains traveling from Moscow to Samara are delayed, the Kuibyshev Railway said.

The electric locomotive and the first carriage of the train sustained damage, Current Time reported.

The Kuibyshev Railway attributed the damage to "external interference" and did not specify the circumstances. Reports from the sources do not directly establish a link between the damage to the train and the drone attack reported by the head of the Ulyanovsk region.

Earlier the same day, Ulyanovsk region head Alexei Russkikh reported a large-scale drone attack that injured eight people, including one child. According to monitoring channels, the Zavod Iskra research and production enterprise was attacked in Ulyanovsk. The plant, a manufacturer of components for radio-electronic equipment, computer hardware and communications gear, is part of the Almaz-Antey concern. Supernova+ wrote that a logistics center for OZON was also a target of the attack.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that 592 Ukrainian drones were shot down over the territories of the Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, Rostov, Tver, Tula, Samara and Smolensk regions, the Moscow region, Krasnodar Krai, Perm Krai, Udmurtia, Tatarstan, annexed Crimea and over the waters of the Black Sea.
