The Meshchansky District Court of Moscow also fined Vershinina 4.8 million rubles, banned her from administering internet resources for three years, and confiscated her iPhone to the state, according to a correspondent for Ostorozhno, Novosti reporting from the courtroom.
Prosecutors had requested three and a half years in a general-regime penal colony. Vershinina pleaded guilty, expressed remorse, and asked for a suspended sentence.
According to investigators, Vershinina advertised paid channels in an open Telegram channel where pornographic photos and videos featuring her were available. Baza reported her detention in late July.
Vershinina's case is one of a series of similar proceedings. In early July, blogger Diana Shurygina was sent to a pretrial detention center on charges of distributing pornography. In June, model Anastasia Ovsyannikova (Nastya Kholod) and German-based producer Ludwig Krichker were placed under house arrest.
