Eleven of 25 candidates from the Yabloko party running for the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly received notices from election commissions that they had submitted incomplete registration documents, threatening their candidacies, the Telegram channel Rotonda reported, citing St. Petersburg Deputy Dmitry Anisimov.
All candidates whose documents "disappeared" face denial of registration — by law, missing certificates cannot be submitted after the filing deadline. According to Anisimov, all the commissions' objections are identical, and the candidates themselves insist they submitted complete document packages.
One Yabloko candidate, Dmitry Khorzov, who is running in electoral district No. 20, recorded the document submission process on video. In the recording, he listed all the certificates he handed over, including a certificate from his place of employment — the same document that the territorial election commission later said was missing.
A similar situation occurred with candidate Manefa Koroleva in district No. 7. TEC staff did not find a certificate confirming she has no foreign financial assets in her package. Koroleva filed a complaint with the City Election Commission, which responded that the territorial commission had not violated her electoral rights and that it is the candidate's responsibility to ensure documents are submitted correctly.
