Thai police found five bodies at a location identified by a suspect detained in connection with the killing of two Russian citizens, the Thai outlet Thairath reported.
Earlier, Thai police detained two local men, 43-year-old Than and 39-year-old Thongchai. According to Khaosod, they confessed during interrogation to killing 22-year-old Diana Nazimova and her 17-year-old brother Roman. Investigators believe the men tried to steal the motorcycle the Russians were riding. When the pair resisted, the attackers shot Roman and beat Diana, after which she died.
The disappearance of Diana and Roman was reported on July 26 by their mother, Zarina. According to her, cameras recorded the children leaving on a motorcycle around 4 a.m., after which contact with them was lost. The day before the disappearance, Diana told her mother that her phone had detected an unknown Bluetooth tracking device and that she felt someone was following her.
The Nazimovs' disassembled motorcycle was found buried on the grounds of the old Thung Luang cemetery near Pattaya. The frame and other parts were in separate pits, Thairath wrote.
Thairath also reported that three more bodies may be buried in the area where the Russians' bodies are believed to be interred. Amarin TV wrote that this information has not yet been confirmed. The Russian Telegram channel SHOT claimed that the bodies could belong to a family of three who witnessed the abduction of the Russians.
