Commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces Robert Brovdi (call sign 'Madyar') said all five ferries of the Kerch Strait crossing have been disabled. Three of them — 'Yeysk', 'SKS-One' and 'Maria' — were destroyed and cannot be restored. The remaining two — 'Lavrenty' and 'Panagia' — lost self-propulsion and are used as towed barges.
According to Brovdi, over two weeks of the 'MoLoChKa' operation, the crossing's capacity dropped by 75% to 25% of its original level. Before the operation, four regularly operating ferries (between the ports of Kavkaz and Krym) served the crossing, with a fifth in reserve at the port of Kerch. Each vessel could carry 8–15 units of equipment, and the daily total capacity reached 180–250 units. Brovdi specified that 80% of traffic was for the needs of Russia's Defense Ministry.
The Kerch Strait ferry crossing remained a key artery for military logistics: heavy equipment, fuel and ammunition were delivered to Crimea via it. As a military expert from Crimea (a former Ukrainian officer, reserve lieutenant colonel) noted in a comment to Krym.Realities, after Ukraine's Armed Forces took the land corridor through occupied territories under fire control, the ferry crossing became the only route for delivering fuel and ammunition — dangerous cargo is not transported across the Kerch Bridge due to the risk of the structure being blown up.
The expert also noted that Russia transported military cargo on ferries together with civilian vehicles. 'Civilian vessels with military cargo are a legitimate military target,' he stressed, adding that Moscow thus violates the Geneva Conventions, endangering civilian lives.
In addition to the ferry crossing, according to Brovdi, on the night of July 20, seven vessels of Russia's 'shadow fleet' (three tankers and four dry cargo ships) were struck in the Black and Azov seas, and seven power hubs and electrical substations were hit on the peninsula and occupied territories. In total, from July 1 to July 20, he said, 183 units of the 'shadow fleet' and 103 power hubs were struck.
