The Ukrainian version of the new Spider-Man film has had a scene cut in which a song by Russian singer Monetochka (Lisa Gyrdymova) plays, according to Meduza, citing users of the social network Threads and a representative of the Planeta Kino cinema chain.
The film premiered in Kyiv on July 29. On the day of the premiere, a viewer wrote on Threads that she had bought tickets in advance and only later learned about the track in the soundtrack. She asked whether the fragment had been removed in the Ukrainian dub and said that if not, she was ready to return the tickets. A few hours later she reported that Planeta Kino had called her back and confirmed the scene had been removed.
Another user later published a screenshot of correspondence with the cinema chain's official account. In it, a Planeta Kino representative cited the distributor's response, according to which the episode would not be in the Ukrainian version — it had been completely removed. In a conversation with a Meduza correspondent, a chain representative confirmed this information, specifying that the removed fragment lasts about three seconds and its absence does not affect the plot.
Planeta Kino stressed that cinemas do not edit films themselves but show the version sent by the distributor. The film is being distributed in Ukraine by B&H Film Distribution. No official statements from the distributor regarding the removal of the episode have been made so far.
