A criminal case was initiated because of two posts on social media. A post in "VKontakte" was published in April 2022 under the nickname Gertruda Gate. The second post appeared in Instagram in September of the same year - it was published by a user under the pseudonym birdintheoceans. In these posts, Ageeva criticised the authorities for the way work was organized in COVID hospitals, and also mentioned her anti-war stance. Initially, Aheieva was charged with the 1st part of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code, but later she was charged with spreading deliberately false information about the Armed Forces with the motive of political hatred (point "e" part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code).

Full summary
She participated in anti-war protests in February and April 2022. In addition, Ageyeva and two other girls were detained on April 29 of the same year at Red Square, although they did not participate in any protests. Later, Ageyeva and another detainee were arrested for 15 days under the article on petty hooliganism (Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences). At the end of July 2022, it became known that Ageyeva had left Russia. She was put on a wanted list and arrested in absentia, but later the appeal court cancelled these decisions. On November 13, 2023, Ageyeva was again arrested in absentia and was also placed on the federal wanted list. Initially, Ageyeva was charged with the 1st part of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code, but later she was charged with spreading deliberately false information about the Armed Forces with the motive of political hatred (point "e" part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). On March 25, 2024, Ageyeva was sentenced in absentia to eight years' imprisonment.
