Case summary
Detained and arrested in April 2017. Charged with organising the activities of a cell of an extremist organisation and involvement in its activities. On May 31, 2018, sentenced to eight years in a general regime penal colony. On December 2, 2022, the court of cassation reduced the sentence to six years, Aliev was released, after which it became clear that he had been deprived of his Russian citizenship.
