Case summary

On 18 July, opposition activist Sergey Andreyev was searched at home and detained. He was accused of incitement to hatred on the grounds of nationality and belonging to a social group. Later he was released on his own recognisance. On 2 August Andreev was summoned to the Investigative Committee for an interview, where he was detained again. He spent the night in the police station, and the next day the court decided to place him under house arrest. In October it became known that Andreyev was put on a federal wanted list. According to unconfirmed reports, he left Russia. In February 2019, it became known that the case was suspended.
