Case summary

In August 2020, Aizatullin's home was searched. He was accused of organising the activities of an extremist organisation. On 19 August 2021 he was sentenced to a fine of 500 thousand rubles. On October 26, the appeal court commuted the sentence to three years in a general regime colony. On the 12 of April 2022, the court of cassation instance cancelled the verdict and returned the case to the court of appeal instance, which a month later again sentenced Aizatullin to three years in a penal colony. Presumably, he was released in 2024.
