Case summary

Resident of Saratov. Worked as a loader, plumber, repairman, insurance agent, and performed road works. On 21 April 2024, he was detained in Moscow as a suspect of involvement in the activities of the Jehovah's Witnesses community. A case was opened against him for participation in the activities of an extremist organisation. Baghyan was taken to Saratov. On 24 April 2024, he was sent under house arrest. On 26 March 2025, the measure of restraint was changed to a ban on certain actions.

Representatives of this community are prosecuted under extremist articles solely because of their religious activities - holding meetings and worship services and attracting new supporters.
