In April 2019, he was detained on suspicion of involvement in the attack on police officers during a rally against the transfer of land to Chechnya on 27 March. On 6 April, sent to the pre-trial detention centre in Nalchik. On 17 April he was released without a preventive measure. Later the prosecution was terminated.
