Case summary

On 3 March 2013, the press service of the FSS for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region reported that ten people were detained in St. Petersburg as part of the investigation of a case under part 1 of article 282.2 (organisation of activities of an extremist organisation) on suspicion of involvement in the activities of the banned organisation "Nurdzhular". On 28 August 2013, the court passed a verdict on the case of involvement in the activities of "Nurdzhular". Shirazi Bekirov was found guilty under part 1 of article 282.2 of the Criminal Code. On 2 September 2013, Bekirov was released, as he was credited for the period of pre-trial detention, which also amounted to 6 months.
