Case summary

A Moscow resident, she worked at the Urban Projects Foundation of Ilya Varlamov and Maxim Kats. In 2016, she was elected as a municipal deputy in the Moscow district of Shchukino, where she headed the Housing and Public Utilities and beautification Commission. In 2019, she tried to pass to the Moscow City Duma, but she was not allowed to the elections. In the 2021 elections to the State Duma, Bryukhanova was leading in her single-mandate district after in-person voting and processing 99% of protocols. But after the counting of votes by remote electronic voting, she lost to the candidate from °A Just Russia° party. In April 2023, it became known that authorities opened a criminal case against Brukhanova for "fakes" about the Armed Forces, she was put on a wanted list. On 20 July, Brukhanova was arrested in absentia. On 19 November 2024, she was sentenced to eight years' imprisonment in absentia.
