Pavlo Butko

A criminal case was opened under part 1 of article 282.2 of the Criminal Code (organisation of activities of an extremist organisation); Butko was accused of being the administrator of the group "Nizhny Novgorod citizens for the right of the people to judge the authorities" in the social network VKontakte, which disseminated the ideas and materials of the banned movement "Army of the Will of the People" (AWP), as well as the fact that his phone number was listed as a contact on the AWP website; the prosecutor refused to sign the indictment in this criminal case, did not send it to court and returned the case to the investigator for elimination of violations; on 9 February 2015, the case against Butko was reclassified; in December, it became known that the case was terminated due to the expiration of the statute of limitation.
