Case summary

Resident of Kosterev (Vladimir region). In May 2025, it became known that a case was brought against him for desecration of symbols of military glory. This happened after a video was circulated on social networks in which he says that he urinated on the Eternal Flame.

The head of Kosterev Marina Klimova told the TV channel "Beware of the news" that in fact he did not urinate, but sat nearby and warmed himself, and at some point threw two carnations into the fire. According to her, the man was beaten up and forced to apologise on camera by "drug-intoxicated" teenagers.

Later, the Investigative Committee reported that the man was accused of desecrating a symbol of military glory because he stood on the pedestal of the Eternal Flame monument, warmed his hands over the fire and burned flowers placed at the memorial.

On 7 October 2025, Chechekin was sent for compulsory treatment.
