Case summary
On 29 October 2020, Degtyarenko's house was searched. He was detained on suspicion of participation in the activities of an extremist organisation. The next day the court decided to take him into custody. On 12 November Degtyarenko was elected a measure of restraint in the form of a ban on certain actions, and on 26 February 2022 in the form of a signature not to leave. In September 2022, he was acquitted, but the court of appeal cancelled the verdict and sent the case for a new hearing. On 28 August 2023 Degtyarenko was sentenced to two and a half years suspended sentence.
