Case summary
On 17 October 2017, it became known that a case of incitement to hatred (part 1 of article 282 of the Criminal Code) had been opened. The reason for this was a verse published by Drozdov online. The verse jokingly described how villagers burned an atheist teacher: "...The glades have blossomed in the forest, a bird chirps in the distance. The heretic is burning with a faint crackle on the pyre". According to the investigation, the verse incited hatred towards the "atheists" social group. On 24 April, the Investigative Committee decided to dismiss the case due to the absence of corpus delicti.
