Case summary
A resident of Vorkuta. He was prosecuted for spreading deliberately false information about the Russian Armed Forces and drug sales. On 9th November 2022, the court found Drozdov guilty of the episodes related to the sale of drugs, and returned the case of "fakes" to the prosecutor's office, considering that the charges required improvement. It said that Drozdov held pacifist views, but disseminated false information with the motive of hatred towards servicemen. The court of appeal confirmed this decision. On 29th June 2023, the court of cassation instance cancelled the return of the "fakes" case to the prosecutor's office and decided to send it for a new review. Drozdov was remanded in custody. On 21st December 2023, Drozdov was sentenced in the "fakes" case to 5 years in a strict regime colony. The total term for the two cases was 8 years.
